DRIVEN

            The magazine DRIVEN is a magazine that focuses on the impact that people of different cultures have on an industry.  DRIVEN is not just a magazine made to get someone’s name out or  to bring publicity to a certain thing, but it is a way of giving credit to those where credit is due. When people who start with very little and are able to reach higher, succeed and prosper, they tend to want to help others do the same. DRIVEN is a source to go to for inspiration for success and for wisdom from people inside the successful corporations.

            Frank Venegas’ FOREWORD piece in DRIVEN magazine is a strong example of inspiration, the pursuit of a dream and of prosperity. The Venegas story to me is one with a legacy being built one generation at a time. Frank’s grandfather was the starting point of the success story. When his grandparents came from Mexico, his grandfather worked for a dream job of $5 an hour, and after a few years he had been promoted to full time and achieved his goal and after working at Ford for 41 years he retired. Frank’s father worked at the Rouge Industrial Complex for 39 years. Frank's grandfather wanted him to become an engineer for Ford, but Frank instead followed his dream and became an entrepreneur. Frank sold a 1979 Cadillac he won in order to start up his business. $12,000 is the money Frank received for the Cadillac, which turned into the creation of the Ideal Group, a company that makes millions! Although Frank did not do it all on his own, his family was also deeply involved, his brother Loren is a big part of the company as well as his two children.

Franks children are deeply involved in his business; his daughter Linzie leads the marketing team and his son Jesse is vice president and general manager for Ideal Setech and the Ideal Group. In a second article in DRIVEN, it talks about the heirs to a growing business and the impact his children have on the company. Jesse and Linzie are the future of Ideal and in the article it is stated that that are the ones who will bring the company to the next level. As an intern at the Ideal Group I am proud to say that I am happy to be a part of it.
