Ideal Group Interns

Today my day at Ideal was...Ideal! Began my day by restocking marketing literature cubbyhole. After that I went through the Ideal Group website and I printed out all the accomplishments that we had in the year 2012 that was in the news. When I was finished that Catherine wanted me to read the articles and learn about the company that I work for. Then lunch came and I had spinach with noodles and ribs. After lunch I printed out flyers and marketing materials Catherine sent  that we have created and organized them into a binder for better organization. I thought that was a good idea -- maybe I can  learn to better organize. Just another great day at Ideal. MB 

Yes, I hear it! My call of opportunity and success is just pounding at my door as I enter Ideal today. I’m going to face my destiny one day at a time. Today as I entered Ideal I was energetic. I knew that when I came to Ideal I was going to have an outstanding day. I walked in and saw no one in the ADMIN office. I thought that they went to a meeting so I set up shop and logged onto my computer. Soon after I got ready for the day Amanda comes in. It was nice to see someone familiar. I checked my email and looked at my tasks. I was to fix some excel sheets and do other minor things. With that I was off.           I did these tasks and I was told by Sylvia and Frank that an very, very, very important person was coming in today. It was Ken Barrett, Chief Diversity Officer of General Motors. I haven’t met many people from General Motors but the people I have met were great people. Ken came to see Frank and Ideal. I met with Ken and talked a little about my internship at Ideal and he sa

I walked into Ideal and said hello to Julie and everyone. I started to file PDPM and hard dollar folders and there were a bunch of them to do. When I was half way done filing them, Chelsea had me put the checks and the copies of the checks together. When I was done, I started matching the checks with the right invoices. Lunch came and they brought Mr. Pita, which was a great meal. When my lunch was over I continued working putting the checks with the invoices. When I was finally done I continue filing the PDMP and the hard dollar folders. But I was pretty happy I pass my English and Math finals, and hope that I passed all my finals. Overall my day went great. JP

When I entered the company of Ideal I was very awake. I arrived and said hello to Amanda. Amanda was the only one in the ADMIN’s office. There wasn’t much sound around because it was early in the morning. I sat at my desk and logged onto my computer. I checked my e-mail and I was ready for the day. Amanda had told me that Sylvia had left some tasks for me to accomplish. I went to see Amanda for a package for Frank, then I updated the Senators and Reps list, and completed any unfinished tasks from last week.   As always I started on the jobs immediately. After about an hour Sylvia came in. As I was doing this time seemed to go by quickly. The minutes passed twice as fast for me. After I was done with some of these tasks it was lunch time. Sylvia had left for lunch and Amanda was left alone as I went to the conference room.   Before I sat down I went to the vending machine and bought some chips. I took a seat and had a sandwich. I ate lunch and played around with my phone for the re

Today was a very long day at Ideal. I started my day by getting a cup of coffee and going to say hello to Sylvia. We started to have a conversation about some colleges sending me letters about their campuses and wanting me to go there. We also talked about a letter I got from the Marines and what I wanted to do in the future. I then headed to do the billing for this week which kept me busy all morning. When lunch time came, I went to the kitchen to get my sandwich. I ate at my desk and worked on the billing until I was finished. After, Frank sent me into his office to talk to someone that had good connections for me to become an engineer; his name was Mauricio Pincheira. I learned a lot and was interested on what I can become in the future. Overall my day went great.    .

My day at Ideal was good. My day started off by me completing some mailers that Catherine started for me. After I was done putting all of our info in the envelops I went to go mail them off. Catherine gave me another task to do and that was to make a contact list for Consultants/Business Facility Managers. That took me up to lunch and Catherine decided to take me out to lunch today. I got a corned beef sandwich and she had a chicken salad sandwich. After lunch Catherine wanted me to fill up our marketing literature cubbyhole  with more "dealer" and "Non-dealer" cut sheets. Then I continued the contact list I was doing before lunch. That was Mykel Bender's day. MB

It is 8:20 in the morning. I am just walking in and everyone has been waiting for me. What would they do without me? When I arrived I saw Sylvia and Amanda at their desks. I said, “Hello”, and sat down. I asked Sylvia how she is doing and she said, “I’m good”. I then logged onto my computer and started my day. While I was doing this Sylvia told me to follow her to Frank’s office and she gave me a list of things to do. This list included talking with Amanda, writing John Bradburn a thank you letter, making a folder on sustainability, watering Frank’s plants, and many other things. She also included going to lunch with Alexandria Ballard.   My first priority was to write a letter to John. I had to hand write it on a piece of paper and then on a letter. I first wrote in pencil to be able to erase if I mess up. I then wrote it in a blue pen to make it look nice. I thought it looked pretty good actually. This took time and penmanship to do so I was kind of nervous if I were to mess up.

. Today went great. I came to Ideal and started off by doing PDPM and hard dollar folders. It took me a while because it was a big stack. When I was done Maria had me file insurance certificates.  Lunch was brought in for Ideal Contracting downstairs in the conference room. Frank, Danny, and Loren talked about how great we worked as a team and how proud they were of Ideal Contracting. After lunch, I continued working on insurance certificates, which took me the entire afternoon. JP

Today was a typical day at Ideal. I started the day by walking into the building and getting starting on this week’s billing. While I was entering the information into the computer Jennifer pulled me aside to talk about some new rules to the new system in MAS. Then, lunch came and Amanda and I went to Jimmy Johns and got some good subs. When lunch came to an end I went back to work on the billing until I had finished.   I filed for the rest of the day and can’t wait for dinner tonight. Since I have a date with an attractive girl.

Today at Ideal was great. First, I took some mailers that got sent back to us and took those address out of the marketing drive. Then Catherine wanted me to make an excel sheet for some contacts for fast food general contractors for the Ideal Shield sales team to target.Then I went to lunch and had some fries and a Greek sandwich. After lunch I put some labels on envelopes so they can be ready to be sent out. It also helped us make an important decision to order more envelopes. When that was done Catherine asked me to look into material handling catalogs so we can stay up with the competition. And that was the "Ideal" day. MB

Sustainability As I arrive to ideal today my mind went through a phase of considerations. What was going to happen today? I already had an idea because Sylvia discussed last week of the meeting we were going today. As I walked through the doors of Ideal I saw Sylvia in the ADMIN’s office. We greeted each other and sat down. She had told me that there was some trouble with the printer so I had to help Amanda upstairs. No worry because I was to the rescue. Amanda was printing some papers and had me bind them. When we were done I went to Sylvia’s office. In Sylvia’s office we discussed the meeting while I was putting stickers on some items. We talked about what was going to happen and what my expectations were. They were average because I just thought we were going to meet some people. Then she handed me something that I will remember for the rest of my life. My very own business cards! Today was one of the busiest days, at least I wasn’t bored all day. I came to Ideal and asked Chelsea for something to do. She had me pull out hard dollars folders and attached them to the invoices. When I was done, I started to attached checks with the invoices and get them signed. Lunch came and I ate a bagel and some chips. When lunch was over Chelsea wanted me to attached checks with the invoices again but this time it was a big stack of invoices, and of course it took me all day to finish them. Julie wanted me to go downstairs and get a check sign by Rachael. My day was busy but great. JP

Today was another day at Ideal. I started helping Maria putting invoices into folders, it took me a while. When I was done I asked Chelsea if she had something for me to do. She had me fax papers and checks which took me the whole morning. Lunch came and David gave me a half of his s andwich that he bought from the gas station. I wasn’t full yet so I went down in the shop and got myself some chips and a Brisk. When I was done I helped Maria do the mail, since today was Monday it was a lot of mail. Then I started helping Chelsea on PDPM and hard dollars folders and file them away. Finally I just did my Latin homework. Other than that my day went great. JP

Today was a typical day at Ideal. I came day coming in and saw that Jennifer wasn’t here today. I started on my billing anyway. I kept on getting compliments about my bow tie and it felt great so I started of my day in a good mood. My morning ended up being very busy since I had a lot of work to do. When lunch came, Amanda and I went to Target for a few things and after went to Subway for something to eat. When we came back to Ideal, Osmara was here and we talked for a little about my school work and what’s going on in life.   After, I went back to work in the Marketing Office and Sean helped me with some computer problems since I wasn’t sure on what to do. Then, I wrote my letter to Esperanza and that was my day. --- Jose Perez

My work day at ideal was ok. My day started off by making a contact list for the Major League Baseball teams. Then Catherine wanted me to delete some contacts from a fast food contact list that weren't in the 402 region that we needed. Then I started on a contact list for supplier and wholesaler listings that took me to lunch. For lunch I had sweet and sour chicken that was pretty good. After I was done with my lunch I made labels for that MLB contact list for Catherine. When I was finished with that I did some more contacts for the supplier and wholesaler listings. Then my day ended. MB

Ah yes another day at Ideal. Sometime I wonder what I’m going to do but I never get it right. The days here pass by awesomely. All the little things make up the day: like seeing a smile or having someone thank you. I started by walking into the ADMIN office and seeing only Amanda. Not too surprise she took out her spine and said hello to me while bending backwards- this is ordinary. I greeted her and asked where Sylvia is. "She's out for the moment but you can work at this computer," she said while pointing at my original computer. Could this be true? Has my old reliable computer is back? Yes, it was! I was bursting with joy in my head. I sat down and set up. After logging in I checked my e-mail and saw many unread messages. I started to take a closer look and most of it was just daily sales and other things like that. I went through and saw some mail from Sylvia and checked it out. She wanted me to complete some tasks for her. As I  was reading them she came in t

Today went great at work. I came to Ideal all energized and ready to go back to work. I asked Maria if she had something for me to do, she had me archive folders and put them in a box in order. When I was done Chelsea  had me separate checks and invoices which were attached together. I mail the checks and filed the invoices. Then Patty had match put invoices with the correct folders. Lunch came and I had Cheetos since I wasn’t that hungry. When lunch was over I continue doing folders that patty had for me. I also had fun in my Christmas break. I went to Mexico and visited my grandparents, uncles and cousins. It was the most fun break I ever had. JP

Today at Ideal the day went by pretty fast. I started out by coming in around 9A.M and started the billing for Ideal Setech. It took all morning to get the billing done so after finishing, I went to lunch. I ate the school lunch and sat down with Amanda to talk about school and life. After, I went back to work with Jennifer and had to box all the folder from vendors to put on shelves for space for the new year. I got really sleepy in the back room since it’s so quiet so I went to get a Coke to wake me up. After getting my Coke I went back to work and that was my day. Jose Perez

Happy New Year! Today is the second day of a whole new year. What's great about it is that I get to be the first intern to blog on the New Year. How awesome is that? Anyway, today I went to Ideal in a great mood. Although I may not express my feelings on the outside my heart is truly pounding. I couldn't wait to get to see all of my fellow co-workers. I started by logging onto Frank's computer and checking my e-mail. Sylvia told me what I should expect to do and as always I wrote it down. I was going to get some mailing addresses and update the directory. That was pretty easy. I got it done and accomplished small tasks on the way. I did this up until lunch. Then I took my break. At lunch I had a sandwich, juice, chips, crackers, and pretzels. They were all really good because I was starving. I really don’t know how long my break is so I just take around 20-30 minutes. After 30 minutes I went back to Frank’s office and continue my tasks. After lunch I then

Today was a great day!  I started out working with Sean for the first time in a while and started to box all the files from last year. Coming back from a long break it took me a few minutes to get back to the working environment. I had boxed all the files for the rest of the morning and then went to lunch. At lunch I sat down with Amanda and talked about my PSAT scores and what was going on in life. A few minutes passed and I went back to work on the filing. After, Frank called me into his office and I talked about all my accomplishment over the years. After, I went to talk to Amanda about my date tonight and that was my day. Today at Ideal was pretty nice. I started off my day by setting up mailers for minor league baseball to be ready to get sent out. I had to put address labels on all of the mailers and I also had to get about fifty letters signed by Mike, Ideal shields sales. Then I put them in the envelope with the rest of the information about our company. That was very tiring but you gotta get the work done to make your boss happy. After I finished that I ate lunch and had two hot pockets. After lunch I started a Minor League Baseball contact list for Catherine, but because of time, I didn't get a chance to finish. I will look forward to finishing next week and improving my time management. MB
