Ideal Group Interns

Where I would want to go is the Cretaceous Period, which was the time that Spinosaurus lived. I have loved dinosaurs since I was young and I still do. I do know that it would be dangerous if I were to go back, but to know more about dinosaurs and know how they lived and cooperated with there kind and others, how they respected each other would be amazing. Spinosaurus is the biggest dinosaur of all, he is also a theropod. Spinosaurus is a fish eater and a land eater, he mainly ate fish, one thing is that he has holes on top of his nose which meant he could easily sense fish in the water and could attack them with his claws, but when fish started dying he would go for other dinosaurs, kind of like carcharodontosaurus which both of them were enemies. The temperatures started rising up which meant that lakes, rivers, ponds started drying up so fish would start dying, so Spinosaurus would have to go on land and eat but there was also other dangerous dinosaurs.    If I could live at any place, at anytime it would be California in the 1970s. I would like to be in that time place because I think it was a fun era to live in. I like how people hanged out and had fun with no electronics. I also love skateboarding, and at that time in Cali, skateboarding was a popular thing. I also love the vintage times. This is why I would've liked to have lived in this time and place.

Oscar Jimenez If I could I would live in the 21st century as it is. I am quite happy as I am and if you think of it any other time era has as much problems as this one today. also they don't have the luxuries that we have now.

If I could live in any place and time it would be Chicago in 1990s. The reason why is because I want to watch Michael Jordan play basketball at the United Center in Chicago. Michael Jordan is one of worlds best basketball player. He won six championships with the bulls in 1991, 92, 93, 96, 97, 98. I would love to witness him play and learn from the way he plays. Many people compare Kobe Bryant to Michael Jordan and I would say that they play just alike. Its nice to see that there is a player out there that can play similar to Michael Jordan.

Today the IT Department was calm. In the morning, I, had settled Santino in and I had surprised Sean with my presence because he was not expecting me today. First I had tried to label some port but neither Sean or I could locate the ports in the server room. After that we tried to configure something for the camera project. he showed me what he did and we stopped there. We had received a package a bit later and it turned out to be a six-foot aux cord. The aux cord was to be used to connect the screen in the conference room to the sound bar. When lunch had arrived, I relaxed and ate my school lunch. After lunch Sean and I set up Joe's new computer and had a meeting with Trevor . Lastly, I ended my day with a blog. If I were to go back in time and place in history it would be the beginning of time. I would want to go here because I would want to see the world develop and see how everything started. Santino Lopez 9th Grade  Shield Department 11-28-16 If I could time travel If I could travel to any other time period and place I would go to New York in the 1940s, to observe the culture and and underground criminal organization of the time. I love to hear about how the men always dressed in suits and smoked cigars, seemed fancy. I also want to know who the leaders of territorial gangs were and how they worked. I'm sure each gang had a unique leader and way of functioning. World War Two also intrigues me, the weaponry and vehicles of the war look fascinating, I would like to know how and why they were created.  My Day Today felt really boring, maybe because I was on break for so long. I guess I have to get back into the grind of things! Today I did mailing and scans, the usual. I also helped Steve carry some packages to the second floor and also unpacked some pictures and plaques in the front office.    

I am thankful for having a home at least and my family. My family has always been there for me and while the rest of my family is in Mexico i can at least spend time with my parents and my brothers. i have a home to be thankful of at least i have shelter unlike the poor people without it.

I am thankful for many things. But the most important thing I'm thankful is my family because family will always be there to support me. My family has done a lot for me they helped raise the person I am today. I love my family so much I don't know what I would do without them. I am also thankful for my talents such as, my basketball skills. I've grown so much in basketball I'm thankful for all the coaches in my life that helped me become the player I am today. I have a special thanks for my Varsity Coach named ''Coach B'' he has been very inspiring and helpful towards me I am very thankful for him. I have never met a coach so passionate about basketball and the players he coaches that's why I appreciate him. I am truly thankful for everything in my life.

          Today in the IT department I worked on various things. The things that I have been trained to do are becoming more normal to me and I also hope to learn more. In the morning, I got Santino started as usual and went straight to my desk. I greeted Sean and we had friendly banter. After that talk Sean discussed what we had to do today. First we started off by building a new shelving unit in for the new conference room. When we finished that I was to throw away the box and get another task from Sean. Then Sean had another computer for me to refurbish. As I moved along with the refurbishing time had flown by and lunch was upon me. Again, my great supervisor bought me an order of chili cheese fries. After lunch I came back and finished the refurbish and went to get another task. We went to building B to then connect some Ethernet ports. Once the Ethernet ports were connected we returned to building A for my last couple of tasks. Why I like working at Ideal 11/18/16 I like working at Ideal because it has friendly environment, the workers give you a smile and a "Good Morning!" when you pass them in the hallway. They look like they work as a team, which is very nice to see. It's a nice and quiet job, at least where I work which is pretty calming. At Ideal I'm exposed to a nice and neat job area which helps me see how a job can affect your state of mind.  My Day Today I worked on mailing a pretty large stack of invoices in the morning. I thought I could handle them with the amount of envelops at hand, but I had to go back to Steve and ask for more. After that, I moved onto the many scans Steve has in his cabinet. It started out fairly easy, there were around only 70 of them. After those he gave me something that definitely kept me busy for awhile, almost 200 scans! What I like about Ideal ?     What I like about Ideal, is that I get to learn new things and new people. Ideal has taught me things I never knew, like scanning, doing mailers, and much more. I also like the people at Ideal, I might not know them so well but they all seem to get along with each other. One final thing I like about Ideal is that they want the best for the workers. I can tell they all want us to succeed and the best for us, that's why I like working at Ideal. 

What I did today was go and collect PM Sheets around the machines at Building A and B, which was really fun to do. Then I went to the Shop and I got some boxes and I put them in a room, most of them had pictures and I had to be careful with them, some had glass. Later in the day I attended a Safety Meeting, after the meeting I opened my computer and updated the notes that my supervisor has wrote. I met a new person today and his name is Tony. He asked me and Idalid to go to the conference room so we could talk about Scholarships, which was interesting. Tony is going to show us how to save more time and not spend hours applying for scholarships

Oscar Jimenez 11/15/16 What I like about Ideal  Ideal is a great place to work at. The people there are always friendly and they always want to help. there is a variety of what to do so you are always busy. I like how they are always helping the community. The gardens are great and I like working in them. The events that Ideal sponsors are fun and they bring life to the company. I can always count on the people here are part of my team and so am I so the people is my favorite thing at Ideal. 

There are three reasons why I like Ideal. The first one is its a great opportunity to work at a job like this gaining lots of experience. It's important that I gain as much experience because this will help me in the future.  My second reason is the people here are very kind, I feel like they could help me with something if needed. My supervisors are very nice and helpful to me which makes me happy. My last reason is this is a great place to be because not many students from Cristo Rey get selected to work at this place.

I like it here because my supervisors give me hard task and I have learned a lot, like how to laminate, how to use Excel,which I have gotten better at and I find really fun to do. I like to attend the Safety meetings and when the meeting is over I go to my computer an update the notes of what we have talked about. One thing I also like to do  is go to Building A and collect the sheets that the workers are supposed to fill out, and I get to see how some of the workers work. I also like to hang posters and go to different buildings and see people that I have met and people that I haven't met.

I love it here at Ideal because of all the experiences I have had here. I have met with nice people such as Sean, Tony, Pedley, and Alexandra. These people have shown me how to work hard in the office. I have also loved the work at Ideal. In the summer, I loved to work outside and in the gardens knowing I have helped the community. I like my new job in the IT department because I get to work with technology every day. Lastly I have liked to have a resource for recommendation letters and mentor-ship. Today was eventful and I could work with more computers. In the morning, I set up Santino and went to my desk. My first task of the day was to help Sean hook up a sound bar in the new conference room. In the middle of doing that we also had to connect some ports to the internet. After that was done we then proceeded to hook up the conference room's poly-comm. After that I read up on a different camera and Sean went to go pick up some lunch. When Sean came, he brought lunch for me. A

Leadership The times I remember being a leader was when I was younger and I had to look over my younger brothers and leading the way in Ratchet and Clank when me and my older brothers played it. But the most prominent times I can remember was during recess from grades 1st-3rd on the playground. For some reason the class would always look to me to decide what we played and how we played it. I would make the rules, justly of course, and say who was it or what the teams were. I have no idea why I was given the power but I kept with it until it eventually faded away after 3rd grade when the kids decided to go into separate groups and do their own thing. During that time there were some kids that were mad that I made the decisions but I was just as confused as them as to why I was able to.I would consider my reign a fair dictatorship, lol.    My Day 11-11-16 Today felt like any other day here at ideal.      I have been a leader for a long time. I've mostly been a leader for my 2 younger siblings. I try my best to keep them on the right path and stay away from the bad. When they have trouble on some stuff, they always come to me for help. I like being a good leader for my siblings because I want the best for them. If they every need any advice, I'm always there for them. 

When in my life have I have a been a leader? I have been a leader almost all the time since I have a younger sibling, I have an older sibling who is in Texas. My younger sister who is five, looks up to me. She is always asking me questions about a lot of things mainly about how it is when I go to school, will she do the same things like me, is school hard, and how come she wasn't born at the same time as me. I am a leader when I help her out with her homework. When my mom can't help her I am always there to help. I am a leader because I look after her.

Today I was very busy because I help a lot with Ideal Accounting I had to pull out invoices and staple them with a check. I had to file them in the paid section of the filing cabinet. After that I help pull out invoices to check off but I had made a terrible mistake of misfiling some papers. I must always ask for help when needed but I always feel like a bother but the supervisor doesn't feel the same they want to help you understand what you have to do. I learned a lesson today which was pay very close attention and ask lots of questions if you don't understand something. I want to be as much help as possible to Ideal Accounting.

I have always been a leader especially in my family because my siblings look up to me for guidance. I am the oldest of four children and I am a role model for them. I have two brothers and a sister I'm more of a leader towards my brothers because they come to me for help and advice about life and school. I have to give them the best possible answer because I don't want them to have to go through anything that I have already gone through. Since I am the oldest I have already experienced a lot and I can help them with lots of information that they need to know about something.

Today was a pretty relaxed day for me in the IT department. I only had two major tasks today. I had to organize the cable pasta in the IT filing cabinet and get a new computer work ready. It took me about two and a half hours but I had arranged and untangled all the wires by purpose. After that I hooked up the new computer and got started on the mandatory installs for the computer. When I finished with the computer lunch had arrived. During lunch, I took the time to eat, do some homework, and email a couple teachers. When my lunch was over I had no other IT tasks to do, so for the rest of the day I decided to do some scans. Finally, I ended my day with my daily blog. 

My Day Today was bit stressful, but not so much that I couldn't overcome it. When we entered the building there was another employee that took the laptop I was using Monday, that's the second time I've had to move! Enrique was helpful and allowed me to use Shaun's computer for the day. I guess he wasn't here, or maybe didn't need his computer. After completing some mailings and scans for Steve, Chris sent me to Melanie who gave me some scans to do. There was a bit of a mix up with them, but I organized and finished them.
