Ideal Group Interns

Work in Office and CUGM for Days of June 19-22 Wednesday:          Office Work -      Filled out paper work, checked and resent emails, Sent Sarah my potato list.       Garden Work -   YNIA painted pallets, Put chalkboard pain on pallets, controlled             overgrowth in quadrants, Weed and tilled the quadrants farthest right. (By Alma’s House)         Friday:                   Office Work-     Created ‘Thank You’ certificate for YNIA, updated potato list, Rain gutter research.                                Garden Work-   Painted a segment of the wooden fence on Scarcyny Garden. Saturday:             Garden Work-    Weed and tilled center beds, watered center beds, took out  plants with fungi, roped Tomatillos to stake to control growth, and took basket of vegetable to Francis on Plumer Street. *My work in the week during my summer internship*

Today is my last day at the Ideal group. These 9 months have been pretty good here. Had some ups and downs but overall it was a good experience in the work place here. Met some good people and had some good relationships with them too. I'm gonna miss this place and the people here. Mow on to what I did today. I came in got situated and asked some people if they had any work for me. nobody did so I asked Gary in surplus but he wasn't here today so I just sat at my computer and chilled for awhile. Then the accounting office said they wanted me to do some filing for them. It was only a little so I got that done in no time. After that Hilary from marketing asked me to make a spread sheet for Lexus dealerships in the U.S. When I got started on that my lunch came around. After lunch I continued on that for awhile then it was about time for me to leave. Had an awesome time at the Ideal group and I wish everyone a good summer.

Internship My day at Ideal was great. I knew that today was going to be full of unforgettable experiences.             When I walked into The Ideal Group today I saw Amanda at her desk. I sat down at my desk and started to log into my computer. Once I did that, I checked my email. My inbox was full of messages but very little were important to me. Most of the mail I received was from other co-workers and they described sales and stats of the company. Then I saw an email from Sylvia telling me that I will be working on the potato project this afternoon. I went to work on some small tasks such as watering Frank’s plants and unloading the dishwasher until Sylvia came to the office. When Sylvia came in, I asked her about her recent activities and she explained to me what I was going to be doing today. She said I was going to be going with her to lunch. This lunch was the Jewish Vocational Services (JVS) and Strictly Business showing how they have impacted other people’s lives. Also, F

Today went pretty great at Ideal. I came to Ideal and I started to file PDPM and hard dollar folders. While I wad doing them Chelsea had the material checks ready, so I put the folders a side and started to the checks. Later Bob wanted me to hole punch papers and put them in a folder, took me six minutes to do it. Then I continued doing the material checks. Later in the afternoon Bob told me to go with him to the gas station and pump gas for his car since he had trouble getting up because of his back. We came back to Ideal and I continued doing my work. Lunch came and they brought pizza to Ideal, which was very good. I enjoyed my break for a few minutes and I started to finish the material checks. When I was done, I took them down to Rachael so she could sign them. When I went back upstairs there was more PDPM and hard dollar folders so I went and did them. Today was supposed to be my last day of work, but I can’t wait to work in the summer. Overall, my day went great. JP

went by pretty fast. My day started with Sean giving me a few invoices to put in alphabetical order. Afterwards, he gave me the checks to pull, but I went to go get some coffee first. On my way to the kitchen, Amanda called me into her office and gave me some brownies that went well with my coffee. When I was finished with the checks I went to go help Setech  with things they needed help on.                 Kelly asked me to help with the filing so I helped file and then lunch time came, I was very hungry. I went on a business lunch with Amanda and Linzie with some gentleman from Honigman. We talked about Cristo Rey and how we can both get involve to help one another. After lunch, I went back to work and scanned a few PDF files for the rest of the day. Overall my day went great and can’t wait for school to be over to start working at Ideal during the summer. 

         Today was a good day at Ideal. I started my day by getting a cup of coffee to kick up my energy to begin my work. I went to talk to Sean to see if he had anything for me to do. I went straight to the accounting office and said good morning to everyone. Sean gave me some invoices to match and enter into our system. Afterwards, I went to tell Kelly if she had any work for me but before I could day anything Sean asked if I could do his checks first.                 I started on Sean’s checks and it was a pretty fast process since I was already used to the process. After, Kelly asked if I could help her with the prelim and I gladly said yes. I worked on it all morning before I went to lunch so I wouldn't have to worry about finishing it. Then, lunch came and I had to do a lot of work. I ate in a rush and got started on my final exam reviews.                 I had to work on my economics review work sheet since it was worth a lot of points and could help me on my test. I

Today was VERY busy for me and lots of work. Started off the day by going around the office looking for work to do. Couldn't find any so I asked Gary from surplus if he had anything. He did so he came to the office and showed me what to do. He wanted me to delete some inventory from an excel spreadsheet because there were multiple items that were the same and this list is going to be posted on eBay and they don't like two if the same items. They took a couple of minutes to do so I asked accounting if they had anything. They asked me to file for them which was A LOT of filing. That took me to lunch. After lunch I went back in there to see if anybody else had anything they wanted me to do for them. Jennifer asked me to staple some invoice together that needed to be matched to its receipt thing. I think that's what it is called. That was A LOT too. I didn't get that done so next week I will be finishing that for her. Other than that, that was my day.

Today was a great day! My morning started off in a happy direction because I knew I was going to work at The Ideal Group. As always I started my day with a smile and a positive attitude. I walked into the doors of Ideal and started my day. When I walked into the ADMIN office I didn’t see anyone in there. Maybe it was too early but I continued to the conference room to use the computer there. I logged on and checked my mail to see what was going to be today’s plan. Sylvia had sent me a whole list to get started on so with that email I got started. Some of the tasks she sent me were to be discussed with her but other things such as addressing some envelopes were jobs I could do immediately. I also had to research some information on plants that are going to be in the garden, Cadillac Urban Gardens. I did these tasks while Sylvia and Amanda came into the office. Today was a good day at Ideal. I started to file PDPM and hard dollar folders for Chelsea . When I was done filing Chelsea had me match up checks with their own subcontract folders. One was missing so I went and told Katy to make a folder for it. Then I had to mail them out. Soon I got hungry so I ate a little earlier. When I was done with my lunch I continued working on the folder that Patti gave me yesterday. It took me mostly all afternoon. When I was done Chelsea had checks that she wanted me to match up with the subcontract folders again, so I did them. When I was finished I took them back to Chelsea so she could check them all. Overall, that was my day. JP

Today went by fast. I entered Ideal and I started to file PDPM and hard dollar. It was a lot to file so it took me most of the morning. When I was done I asked Bob if he had anything for me, he had me organize blue prints and then I had to staple them. Lunch came and I went and ate my meal from the school which was a Sandwich . My lunch was over so I continued working. Later, Chelsea had the material checks printed so I went and did them. When the material checks were done I went downstairs to get them signed. When all that was done I asked Patti if she had something for me to do, she had me put PDPM sales sheets in a folder. Overall, my day went good.  JP
