Ideal Group Interns

Today at Ideal was a pretty cool day. At the beginning of my day I filled up the marketing cubbyhole with dealer and non-dealer flyers. After that I did a Bjs Wholesale Club Contact list for Catherine. I took information from an excel sheet and just added on to it with contact info. Then I took all the emails from each person in the contact list and added them to Constant Contact. All of this will be used for a E-blast for the end of February. When that was completed I helped Mike from Ideal sales out by getting contact information for Trader Joe's in certain states to have a Mailer ready to be sent out.Trader Joe's is branching out their company to different areas in the state so we are chasing after them to use our products in front of their stores. Then there was lunch... After I ate my lunch I finished the Trader Joe's project. Nobody in the Marketing office had any work for me to do so I went into the Accounting office to ask Sean if he wanted me to do anything. He

Today was a good day. I came in at Ideal and said hello to everybody. I went to go get a cup of coffee to begin my day. I started to file PDPM and hard dollar folders, it took me a while to do them. When I was done filing Maria had me file invoices. When Chelsea finally had the checks done, I started to match them with their own invoices. Lunch came and I ate my quesadilla. When I was done eating I continued matching the checks with the invoices. Finally, I was done with them, but as soon as I finished it was time to go, just in time. Overall, my day went great. JP

Today was an ok day at Ideal, I didn’t do too much stuff. I came in at Ideal and Chelsea and David weren’t here yet, so I asked Patty if she had something for me to do. She gave a big folder and had me pull out PIFS and match them with another paper that had to go together. It took me all morning. Lunch came and they brought Jets Pizza, it was a good meal. When lunch was over I continued doing Patty's work that she had me do. When I was done I started doing my Algebra homework. Then David wanted me to call a lady and ask her for a W-9 copy and fax it to us, I was pretty nervouse but I did it. When I was finished with my homework I started filing PDPM and hard dollar folders. Overall, my day went good. JP

Today didn’t start out too well since Amanda wasn’t at her desk this morning. I usually have a talk with her before I begin my day, but instead I got a cup of coffee. I started doing my weekly task of doing the billing for Ideal Setech and that took most of my morning. While I was working, Doug offered to take me to get something to eat during lunch so I was already having a better day. When lunch time came Doug and I went to go get some burritos from our favorite neighborhood gas station.   I bought a Mountain Dew to go along with my meal and had a very good relaxation hour. After, I got started on some of the filing that had to be done. Overall, my day was ok and can’t wait for another day at Ideal Group. - Jose Perez

My day was pretty fun. At the being of my day I binded four powerpoints for Catherine that she only had to teach me how to do once. It was pretty cool to learn how to bind powerpoints together because now I know that im helping out somebody in a big way. After I finished that, I made a mail merge for 70 contacts. A mail merge is when you take the address information from companies and put them together in a word document so that you can make labels and put them on postcards to get sent out to say thank you for having us as their dealer.       Before my lunch Chris the VP of the company wanted to talk to me. We talked about sports and the importance of school. It was actually a very interesting conversation. He told me a lot about his high school career and about the college he attended. As I ran into Ideal today trying to escape the freezing winter of Michigan I was pleased to go to work at Ideal. This morning I saw Amanda and Sylvia conversing. They were laughing and in a good mood so I was very exultant to see them today. I greeted them as they greeted me. I was now going to start on my productive efforts for the day. I logged onto my computer and checked my e-mail. As always it was full of items for the entire shield sales. I didn’t take part in any of this so I just disregarded it. Then I stumbled upon a couple e-mails from Sylvia. I was then told by Sylvia to meet with her to discuss some tasks. I was to get in touch with some networking partners, make a couple of community packages, check some components from some mail from Southwest Detroit Environmental Vision (SDEV), and a few other things. Today went as good as I thought. I came in Ideal and started my day by getting a cup of coffee like always, and filed PDPM and hard dollar folders. Took me a while to file them all. When I was done filing, Chelsea had me match checks with their own invoices. Lunch came and Chelsea, Terry and I went to Roman Village , I missed that place. The meal was wonderful, but sadly we went back to Ideal. I continued matching the checks with their invoices all afternoon, and finally I was done. I was going to do my homework but I didn’t have any time. Overall, my day went great. JP

I started my day by putting some flyers back into the cubbyhole that our Vice President took to a Lunch and Learn Presentation. Then I uploaded email addresses to Constant Contact from a current dealer list so that we could get information from them for future references. That took me to lunch. I had some tuna. After lunch I continued on with the dealers list. When I finished I only had a little bit of time to do a couple of PayPal order numbers for Gary and Ideal Surplus Sales because it was almost time for me to go. That was the Ideal day. MB

Today as entering Ideal I was full of energy. This was because I am having a little vacation provided by my school Detroit Cristo Rey High School. So as happy as I was I knew today was going to be a lucrative day. As I walked into the ADMIN office I only saw Amanda. As always she was very amusing and greeted me. I said, “Hello, how are you?” We conversed for a short time and went off to work. I logged onto my computer and checked my mail. My mail box was full of messages. Most of them were just for general purposes but Sylvia had sent me some tasks. I was to call her and notify her that I came in today. I called her and she told me that I was to check some mail I had on my desk and make a new package for the community. I went to my desk and saw a piece of mail from a very important man. His name is Ken Barrett, Chief Diversity Officer of General Motors! Last week I sent him a letter thanking him for coming and he replied with some interesting words. He said that if I continue doin

Today was a busy day. I came in Ideal and I said good morning to everybody. I made my coffee like always so I can stay awake and asked Maria if she had something for me to do, she had me write job numbers on a paper since she was organizing the cabinets. She handed me tags so I could put them in there folder. When I was done, Chelsea had me mail checks and file their invoices. Lunch came and I had my break. When my lunch was over I continued putting tags in the folders, when I was done Maria had me open boxes, there were big books inside them and put them on her desk. I had more invoices to do so I went and did them. I was done and I started to do my Biology homework. My homework was done, Maria had me write job numbers on a paper again, but this time it took a while to do them. Overall my day went great. JP

Today was an Ideal day.   I started out by coming into Ideal Group and everyone was gone. I then realized that everyone was in a meeting, so I had nothing to worry about. I made my morning coffee and got started on the billing for the week. When I had finished, Jennifer told me to start filing for the different sites and I had finished before lunch. Afterwards, I went to lunch and had my usual school made PB and J. I spent most of my lunch looking at Kettering University to see what type of program and majors they had to offer. I found it very interesting and can be one of the schools I would like to go to. At the end of the day, I helped Sean mail some of his checks. Overall my day went great. 

My day at Ideal started out very well. When I walked into the building Amanda wasn’t at her desk so I was worried. I didn’t know if I was going to eat anything for lunch, but Amanda soon came in through the door and I was relived. I then proceeded to my desk to start on the billing. It took most of my morning, but I got it done, and after I went to lunch with Amanda. We had a great time talking about school and many other subjects that came to mind. When we got back to Ideal I started on the mail which I haven’t done in a while. I went to deliver it all and had a few conversations with people and had time to stretch my legs. I then went to do some more work in the accounting office and that was my day, overall I had a very productive day.

My day at Ideal was pretty busy. I started off my day by finishing the task that Gary gave me last week that I didn't get a chance to finish. I had to put in inventory to a Excel sheet. It was a lot of inventory so that project took me to my lunch. I had some orange chicken. After my lunch I did another assignment that Gary asked me to do. This one didn't take long to do. After that Amanda talked to me about school and what I need to improve on. That was my ideal day. MB

In the beginning there was no one in sight, but far in the distance in the ADMIN’s office there was a bright haired woman. It’s Amanda Schmidke! As I walked into Ideal today I saw Amanda at her desk on the phone. I knew she was busy so I went to my desk and logged onto my computer. I checked my e-mails and thus a task was born. I saw that Sylvia has sent me a few tasks. They were basically to add some contacts to the list and post some dates. So the first thing I did was to update or create some contacts. There were about 8 people and a lot of copying and pasting. I finished these and went onto my e-mail again. Amanda had created a calendar for Cadillac Urban Gardens and me. I logged onto my calendar on g-mail. What this calendar does is pretty much like an agenda online. You can add other people’s calendars so you have their dates so it’s a necessity for any company. After I had all my contacts together and set up my calendar I was finished. I then asked Amanda if she needed anyt

Today went great at Ideal. I came to the building and say hi to everyone. Chelsea and David weren't in yet so while I was waiting I went to get myself some coffee to pump up my day. When Chelsea came she wanted me to file PDPM and hard dollar folders, nothing big. When I finished Chelsea handed me a big pile of checks, when I got them I went to the printer and made a copy of the checks. When it was done I started to match them together and find their own invoices. Lunch came and they brought pizza, it was a wonderful meal since I was so hungry. Lunch was over and I started to help Maria find some invoices that were missing. When all that was done I went to go help Maria and make her boxes. And that was my nice day at Ideal JP

Today at Ideal was fine. Started by looking to see if we needed anymore flyers in the marketing literature cubbyhole - my routine first responsibility. After that I looked through some magazines that had our product in it and ripped out the pages to compare to this year. I finished that in no time. Catherine was in a meeting so I went around the office looking to see if anyone else needed help with anything. Sean in accounting wanted me to file a couple of papers for him. When I was done it was lunch time. I had a turkey sandwich with swish cheese on it. After lunch Gary from Ideal Surplus asked me to put in some inventory to a excel sheet to have a computer copy. That took me to the end of my day. MB

Today was a very good day at Ideal since I had great news about my grades. When I arrived I headed to Amanda’s office to let her know how my grades were, but she was in a meeting. I then went to start on the billing for this week and to my surprise there were lots to do. My whole morning was busy until lunch came and I had a few minutes to relax and clear my head. After, I went back to work and had a great time since I was in the accounting office with a bunch of unique people. At the end of my day I went to talk to Sean about my court case on Monday where I have to be a prosecutor and prove a murder took place.     - Jose Perez
