Ideal Group Interns

Today went by really fast. In the morning the first thing I did was help Osmara wrap the bedding baskets for our adopted family. After I finish I sent out mailers for Alex. Then Osmara asked me to help set up for the potluck. During the potluck I met more Ideal employees like Maria. Overall today was a fun day.

What I did today was simple. In the morning Julie gave me the assignment to file last weeks and this weeks invoices into the file cabinets. That assignment only took an hour to do.  When I was done filing, Julie and Kala gave me at least 5 stacks of invoices. Some of the stacks needed PO's and tracking printed out. I did half of that assignment before my lunch break and decided to do the rest after my break. After lunch, I headed straight back to the assignment. The assignment took me the whole day to finish. There were only 30 minutes left so Kala gave me open invoices to file into either DUNDEE or TOLEDO. Overall, today was productive.

Once I entered Ideal I went straight to Steve and grabbed the invoices that I needed to do. I kept on getting more and more but I managed to finish them. After that I started to work on scans for the rest of the day for Steve. At the end of the day I started to write my blog and this is what I thought about that was worth typing.

    Today was an easy last day before Christmas break. I started off by mailing birthday cards like I do every week. The rest of the day I was cleaning out boxes that had old paperwork which was not needed anymore. Since today I didn't do a lot it was pretty good since it was my last day of the year.

This week has been very nerve wrecking and exciting. Although the best and most anticipated part of my week, aside from the snow days and basketball games, was my notification on my Early Decision application to Dartmouth College, which is my top choice. Thursday after 4 pm was the set time for the decision to be posted. There was a snow day Thursday so all I had to think about that day was my letter. The snow day was great, it meant I could relax a little but, yet I didn’t have much of a way to keep my mind off my letter that was going to be posted at 4 pm.                 When the time came I called my mom on my phone, so she could be with me when I opened my letter because she was still at work at the time. I took a few deep breaths and went to the online portal to view the status. When I opened the decision update and saw the acceptance I was in shock, I told my mom I got in and soon after I became emotional. No one in my family has ever attended an Ivy League College, and few a

This week I continued the excel spread sheet from Alex. I sent out mailers, and updated the Ideal Interns board. After lunch I helped Sylvia wrap presents for Ideal's adopted families. I also added Frank's new orders to the excel spreadsheet last week. Due to the weather I got out early on Wednesday.

Today was a good day. The first thing I did was scan a lot of papers into the computer. Once I had finished I went to a meeting with Alex and Yesi in building C. When I came back I started taking out file folders that were old so they could be terminated. Last, I helped Linda wrap presents.

Once I got in my chair, I turned on my computer and went to get some invoices. After doing invoices, I asked Steve for some scans and I finished them at lunch time. After that Melanie gave me some papers to arrange into 3's, this is how I ended the day.

What I did today was new. In the morning Kala gave me the assignment to rip open envelopes and stamp the letters inside of the envelope. That took me about an hour to do. Kala decided to ask Trevor if he needed me to anything for him and he sure did have something for me. The assignment he gave me required a computer but the accounting didn't have enough computers so Kala put me in the admin office. Trevor explained the assignment to me and I had trouble at the start of it so I asked for help again. The assignment was to look up Pro #'s in the 2017 IDS SO but if the pro #'s weren't their my mission was to make folders of those missing pro #'s. That assignment took me until my lunch break. After my break, I headed to Kala's desk to tell her that I was done with Trevor's assignment and ready for another assignment. The new assignment that Kala gave me was to print the drop ships and tracking info for a stack of invoices but Osmara computer wasn't working s

Today my day went by fast, because I got to do a variety of things. I started of by fixing the interns' board. I noticed that it was missing some pictures and names of the colleges'. I completed what I could with the board, will finish  the rest on Monday. I then continued with the excel spread sheet from last week of Frank's orders. After lunch I helped Melanie with some scans and mailed invoices. I also helped Alex, she had me label and send out mailers.

   Today was a good day. The first thing I did was decorate the Christmas tree. It was really interesting because you can make the tree smaller with a control which was actually convenient. When I finished the Christmas tree, I finished putting the stickers to the folders from yesterday. In the afternoon I learned a little about taxes from a video. Last I organized American express receipts and scanned a lot of papers into the computer.

What I did today was new things.In the the morning Kala gave me the usual assignment:to file open/paid invoices into the file cabinet were they're supposed to go.  That took literately around 40 minutes, if you add the organizing of the invoices in alphabetical order.  When I was done filing Kala  said that I was going to do something new today and that was searching for receipts to match up with invoices and she gave me the receipt folders of Ideal Steel and Ideal Shield. That took me the whole morning to do.  I went to have my lunch break.  When I came back from my lunch break Kala gave me two stacks of invoices, one of the piles needed tracking printed out and the other pile needed both tracking and drop ships purchase orders printed out. That only took me about an hour to do . There was only 2 hours remaining for me. Kala had the idea of giving me "Expense Reports" and they were receipts of workers that used their credit cards.  My job was to match the printed receipt

      Today was a pretty easy day. In the morning I filed a few papers and also took folders out of the cabinet. Then, I mailed birthday cards like always. The rest of the day I worked on putting new labels to folders and adding an extra folder as well. That was pretty much all I did today.

What I did today was pretty simple. In the morning Kala gave me the assignment of filing stacks of  paid invoices into certain file cabinets in certain spots. That took around 2 hours to do. After I was done doing that assignment, Kala had set down 4 stacks of invoices that needed drop ships,tracking numbers,pro numbers. I did half of assignment and it took around 2 hours and decided to do the rest of it after my lunch break. When I was done having my lunch break I headed back to my desk and started to work on the assignment. The assignment took me the whole day. Once I was done with that, Kala realized the time and gave me a bit more work and it was to staple check stubs onto these paid invoices and file them into a paid folder. Overall,today was productive!!!

Today has gone by fast, once I went down to my department, I went to see Steve so I could grab the scans that I needed to do. After that I went to Melanie and I arranged some papers into 3's.Then I went to Steve again and he gave me some scans to do for the rest of they day, can't wait to come back tomorrow and work hard!

Today was pretty busy. I came in and Pat told me that they had put a picture of me on the board running in a cross country meet. I thought that it was cool and was glad that they put it up. I came in and started working on shippers for Tony. After I finished that there was nothing for me to do at steel so I asked Melanie if she had stuff for me to do and she showed me to insert order numbers from job partners about deliveries. I did that till noon where I helped carry and set up lunch for the Movember celebration. it was fun to see everyone grow their mustaches and my favorite was Gaetano's picture because he looked exactly like Frank. After lunch I helped Steve mail invoices.

Today at Ideal I updated the Ideal Intern board, organized receipts, and created an excel spreadsheet. With the board I added new pictures, names, and the department of the college interns. I also went around the building and took pictures for Ideal's contest. Osmara had me high light and sort out receipts by date and payment method. My last task was to create an excel spread sheet for Pat of Frank's orders. Overall all I would at my day went by fast.

     Today was a pretty normal day, not really that busy. The first thing I did was make new birthday cards for the month of December. Since it was a new month I had to write down all the addresses on an envelope. When I was finished Rachel gave me a box full of envelopes and I had to seal them all, which also took long. In the afternoon, after lunch, I started making new file folders for new hires and also had to look for the folders of rehires. In the middle of doing that I went with Alex to building C walking since it was nice outside. Overall today was a pretty good day with no trouble.

What i did today was a breeze. In the morning Kala gave me some open invoices to file into a certain spot in the cabinets. That took an hour to do. After I was done with that Kala gave me another assignment and that was to go through and find certain open invoices and staple them to a check. That took another hour. When I was done with that I went to have my lunch break. My lunch break was over, I headed back to my desk and got an assignment that was extremely simple. Kala gave me 4 piles that needed either P.O.'s or tracking or both. That took me the rest of the day to complete. I finished a bit early and Kala gave me a small portion of invoices that needed tracking information. Overall, today was smooth!

Today is the first day back to school since Thanksgiving and because today is the Monday rotational work day for the seniors, my first day back is being spent at Ideal. Even though this meant that my break was over, I was glad to be back at work for Ideal Steel. Tony Santori, Steve Pedley and all the Steel boys asked how my Thanksgiving was, from there we were able to talk a little bit about our days outside of work. During my lunch break, I came to the Admin office and talked to Pat, Osmara and Rossie about thanksgiving, Black Friday and the movies. Even though these encounters may seem small, it shows me that I have a built a friendly relationship with many at work and that I feel welcomed at Ideal. You shouldn't only give thanks on the 4th Thursday of November, you should be thankful everyday and I am thankful for everyone I work with and for my opportunities at the Ideal Group.

What I did today was plain and simple. In the morning Kala gave me at least 6 piles of paid invoices that I had to file into the filing cabinets. That assignment took me around an hour. Kala left early today, so Julie gave me an assignment. The assignment was to print out P.O.'s and delivery receipts for invoices that didn't have any. Then after I was done with that I went to lunch. My lunch break was over, so I headed  back to my desk and Julie gave me more invoices that needed P.O.'s and delivery receipts. That is what I did today. Overall, today was productive!

Once I came in, I dropped off my things and saw that their was a huge stack of invoices for me. I didn't finish them close to 11 o'clock. After all of that Mel gave me some picking sheets and I arranged them into 3's. Then Mel gave me some more picking sheets but instead they go into sugar and I didn't finish them because their is so many of them but I finished more than half of them.

I came in and went straight to Steve so I can get the scans that he has left for me. It took me a while to finish them all. After that Steve gave me some Scans and it took me all day to do them, some where different ones and it took longer to finish.

          Today was a busy yet fast day. The first thing I did was start doing all the American Express papers that Alex had assigned me. When I finished that I mailed a few cards. After, I printed out a lot of papers to staple together and file when I was done. In the afternoon I was making new folders for 2018 to go into file cabinets. Last, I scanned some papers that Yesi gave me into the computer.

This week I helped out different people. First I started off with Pat, making a spreadsheet of some business cards. Then I updated and added a section on the board for college interns at Ideal. Later I helped Osmara by creating a poster for an up coming safety meeting. I then checked with Melanie on the safety walk thru documents. Once I finished, Alex had me send out mailers, and continue on an excel spreadsheet. 

Today was pretty easy and simple, in the morning I had to organize and file in some stacks of papers into the cabinets assigned to them and later on juli gave me at least 6 stacks that needed tracking numbers, needed to be tracked and printed P.O.'s . That assignment juli gave me took me all day to do, it wasn't hard it was easy it just took a bunch of time to do.Today overall was productive and busy.

Today I came in and worked on the shipper scans. After I started working on that I went to take down the decorations from the Green Halloween. It was a trailer that was full of decorations that needed to be taken down. After that I finished the shippers that needed to be put in the correct folders.

Today I got to do many things. First I updated new information on the Detroit Cristo Rey Interns  wall. Second I made a flyer for any lotion donations and checked it with Osmara. After I finished the flyer Osmara had different flyers for me to put up all around the building. The last thing I did was help Alex decorate some more Ideal Shield bollard covers. Overall I would say my day was pretty busy.

Today was a busy day. The first thing I did was mail birthday cards. After, I scanned some papers that I didn't get to finish yesterday so they can be put into the computer. Then I had to print lots of important papers and place them into a file folder were they corresponded. When I finished that, Alex gave me some American express paperwork I had to print and also organize as well. For lunch I went out to eat with Yesi, Alex, Jim, and Eddie. I had a good time and I went somewhere new which I actually liked. At noon, Yesi had me organize lots of old folders into boxes. When I finished that I worked on the American express papers from earlier and checked them off on the excel sheet that Alex had sent me.

What I did today was a lot of work I had to file some papers, like paid files or open files. It was kinda fun. After that I had to do three more stacks that were all open and I had to organize them all! when I was done with that I had staple some papers together. Then Julie suggested that I help with the mail, I had to make a pile for franks mail and a pile for contracting, then after that I had to do statements for companies to know if they are in system or not. Today was very fast and amazing.

         Today was a slow day since it is Monday. When I got to the building the first thing I did was mail  birthday cards that I do every week. Then Alex gave me a lot of papers with different names so I can find their folder and give it back to her to organize. For the ones that didn't have folders I had to make two folders for them. In the afternoon I filed a few papers and then I had to scan papers and put them into the computer. Since most of the stuff was easy I finished the work fast which is why the day went by a little slower.

What i did today was file a whole bunch of papers and after i was done filing that bunch. Kala gave me some computer work like print out the drop ships and  tracking, also i got to do was find out the p.o.'s  invoices and some tracking numbers for the invoices that didn't have one. The tracking and drop ships took me almost the whole day to do. Overall today was amazing and easy! Cant wait for tomorrow.

When I came in, I settled down and then I went to Steve so I can finish the invoices it took me about an hour to finish. After that I asked Melanie if I could work on picking sheets and she had a whole bunch. The rest of the day, I worked on them, can't wait to come back tomorrow and work again.

       Today as soon as I got to Ideal I helped out Pat. She had me make labels to put on the suggestion boxes and feed Frank's fish. Then I went over to Alex in the Marketing department and continued working on the excel spread sheet, where I added phone numbers, addresses, and names of locations from certain states . Once I finished with the excel sheet I got to do a little bit of crafts. We made minions from Ideal bollard covers. Overall I would say today my day went by fast.

Today was an interesting day since it is Halloween. I started off by mailing birthday cards which I do every week. After, I scanned some files that Yesi gave me to be put into the computer. Then I had to file many papers. At noon I went to go change into a team costume and we were all stick figures. There was many other costumes from other groups that were funny also. After all the costumes and pictures I went back to scanning papers for the rest of the day.

What i did today was to see if files are in the right spots and checked them if they were even their to begin with, i had to do every cabinet (Group,shield,steal etc.) it was kinda fun just looking for them. Thats what i basically did all day was just checking. Oh also me and Jose went upstairs to watch the mini contest with costumes, i really enjoyed the dwarfs.

Once I got to Ideal, I went to Steve again and grabbed all the invoices, there wasn't that many, last week their was a whole bunch. Steve gave me some PO'S and I would look up the number and put them in a separate folder. After those I went to Melanie and she gave me some picking sheets to arrange and then later to put I'm. Once I arranged them Melanie gave me a whole bunch of them to put in Sugar, I wasn't able to finish them but next week I'll try harder to finish them.

Once I got to Ideal, I started to go to Steve and I grabbed a handful of Invoices which took me a while to do. After that Steve sent me some Picking sheets and it took me about a hour. Then Melanie gave me some Picking sheets to arrange also, after arranging I can put the numbers into Sugar and after finishing those I can put them in a separate room in case we ever need them.

Today as soon as I got to Ideal I feed the fish, then went to building C to help Pat. We cleaned the stage in building C and picked up anything that did not belong there. After we dropped everything off at building A, I went over to the marketing department to help out Alex. From a list of states she gave me I had to find information on specific locations. Once I had the information I had to copy and paste it into an excel sheet. Overall my day went by fast.

Today what i did was in the morning i had to file four big stacks of paper because Julie and Kayla had to go to end of the month meeting, after doing about 2 hours of filing, pat called me and Jose to help  her with setting up tables and put chairs in for this big event thats going to happen tonight. When me and jose walked back to our building and worked. After lunch i had to finish the left overs of the stacks that i was doing earlier and when i was done i had organize some papers. Today was really productive!

When I got to work the first thing I did was mail birthday cards like every other day. After that Alex asked if I can put different file folders in alphabetical order. When I finished that Yesi asked if I can file some papers for her. In the afternoon I started writing more birthday cards for the month of November. Last, I went to building C to help decorate for the event they were having.

Today I came in and started working on the shippers. I scanned them and put them in their file. After I finished that I started working on naming the architectural files and there was a lot. I did the same with the structural files. After that I updated the job classification list with more job descriptions. today was fairly busy and went by pretty fast.

This week I started off helping Alex with mailers. For the mailers I had to get 7 different cut sheets and stuff them into an envelope to prepared them to get labeled. In total I arranged around 250 envelopes. Once I finished organizing the mailers I continued with the excel spreedsheet from last week. I inserted names, phone numbers, and addresses of different companies. On Wednesday I helped Sara from Southwest Environmental Vision with the gardens. I worked along with some Detroit Zoo and Quicken Loans volunteers. We went on a garbage sweep, collected all the left over vegetables, and then threw the rest of the plants to compost. 

Today i did was during the morning i had to file paid bills into certain cabinets and after i was done filing all that, i sat down all day and had to find out the track numbers for a couple of stacks and also print out p.o.'s. In the last of couple minutes i had to help out Jose move some boxes that a principal of a school is going to pick up tomorrow. Pretty productive today! 

Today I did a lot of filing. All morning I was filing papers that Alex had given me. In the afternoon I had to create new folders so they could also be put into the filing cabinets. Once I finished all the filing I then wrote and mailed birthday cards like usual. Last Yesi asked me to scan a few papers she had.

Today I worked on a project which was to clean up a job classification document. It was 8 different jobs that I had to type up and make it sound more concise. This took me all of the day. Sylvia gave me tacos for lunch which was great and I'm grateful.

Today I got to help out Alex Santori make an excel sheet and send out mailers. I completed about 100 mailers. For each mailer I had to stuff the an envelope with eight different cut sheets, glue, and label it. With the excel sheet I made a list of Ferguson's locations for future mailers. I would say that overall my day was very productive.

Today what I did was mostly scan different papers so it can be moved to my computer. I also got to mail more birthday cards like usual. That was all I did today.

What i did was mostly all day sit down and find out if our deliveries got delivered or still in transit. After done doing the tracking, i had to print out a whole bunch of PO's and then staple them on the tracked papers and still in transit papers. when done doing all that my last job was to take out papers out of mail and stamp them. Today was actually productive and fun. I didn't get to do any filing today so.

When I came on Monday, I grabbed the handful of invoices that was left for me from Steve, I didn't get to finish them at the moment because I went with Linda to help out Emily with some boxes and to clean a closet with with some junk. It took us till lunch time, right after lunch I went to my desk and I started to finish of the invoices one by one. Around 3 o'clock I asked Melanie if I could arrange some the piles that she had, it took me till  4 and I started to get ready to go. It's tuesday now, I started off by doing my blogs that I haven't done the past weeks, I have been having problems with getting in. I went to Steve's desk and I grabbed the invoices that he had for me. After that I went to Melanie and asked her if I needed to arrange any PO's for her and she did.

Once my driver dropped me off, I started unpacking and putting my food in the fridge. Once I was settled I went to Steve's desk and I grabbed all the invoices that I needed to do for the day. It took me about an hour to finish all of the invoices and to put them through the mailing machine. I put all of the invoices in the basket, I went to Melanie after and asked her if there is anything that I can do. She logged me on to Sugar and I started to link PO's onto the application. Once it's been a while she switches me to a different way so I don't get bored as much when I am doing them. Today went by quick and I had a good day at work, can't wait to come back and work even harder next week!

Today was a good day, I started off the day with some invoices again, took me a while because I usually always have a big pile. After the invoices, I asked Melanie if I could arrange the PO's into 1,2,3 after that I scanned them into the machine and emailed it to her. I then put them in a closet. Then I went to Steve and he emailed me some scans to do, I finished off my day by helping him with his work.

Today I worked with Linda in organizing the big closet. Jose, Alexander, and I had to take all the things out and also organize them when putting them back which pretty much took all day since there was a lot of boxes to go through. I also had to label each cabinet that I had organized. Overall today was go really busy day.

Today was horrible for me, i messed up with the files. I put most of  them in the wrong cabinet causing Julie and Kayla to organizing the wrong ones. I felt really bad that they had to fix my mistakes. In the middle of the day, i was asked to help Emily to sort out some dusty frames into a small closet and move a couple things. That's what i did all day just kinda sort out files and help with the closet. Overall today was okay and ill do better tomorrow!

Today was a good day, the somewhat usual routine in a place that always has something going on. There is always something to do at Ideal, which is a good thing if you come ready to work and learn about the company. Working with Ideal Steel is a great experience for me because I get to learn how some of the most massive structures are built, and how all the little components that go into them are just as important. Everything in the business serves a purpose; therefore, you cannot have the same workflow if one thing or another is changed or if someone decides that the small job is not worth their time.              Working here not only prepares me for the future job I will have, but it also prepares me to become a better person for the future. There are many lessons to learn while at work, and learning them early on helps me create a better future for myself.

Today I finished a flyer for Green Halloween asking for volunteers and donations. I also fed Frank's fish. Then I called magazine companies to check up on Ideal's subscription status. I organized and folded Ideal hoodies. My last task was to put up flyers in all around A,B, and C buildings for Green Halloween. Overall my day was productive.

 What i did today was organize some paid bills and after that Kayla gave me another bunch but they were all open so i took me a minute to understand and put them in in the right cabinet file. The filing took around 4 hours to do. Ill work on being much faster so i can do other new actives. when i was done with lunch, i had to print out papers stating that the package was delivered but later on at the end of the work day Julie told me what i forgot and did wrong. I forgot to print out the receipts of the orders. So next time ill remember to do them. Today was very productive!!    

Today was also a very productive day. When I got to the building I went to the kitchen where they were having their breakfast fun raiser. When I finished eating, I went and worked with Linda mostly all day. The first thing we did was move some paperwork and other random things to different cabinets so the can be organized and have more space. The next thing I did was shred a lot of papers. After, I labeled all the cabinets. When I finished all my work with Linda, the last thing I did was mail a few birthday cards.

Today what I did as soon as I got to the office I feed Frank Venegas' fish, and also made a list of all the items in his office. Then created an excel sheet of the list of items in his office to send to Mary Beth Kyle. After I got finished I got started on a flyer for any volunteers and donations for the Green Halloween event. Last I labeled and mailed about 450 postcards to Ideal's potential costumers. Over all my day was very productive.

Today was a busy/productive day. I started the morning by checking lots of papers and also checking if Alex had signed all of them so I can be able to file them. If Alex had not signed them, I had to give them to her. Afterwards, I had to file all the papers in the correct folders. After filing all of the papers, I had to put white out on some names that were on folders so Yuli can reuse them for something new. The rest of the day I was filling out birthday cards for October so they can be mailed. Last I took some of the cards and sealed them so they can be mailed.

What i did today at work was to file  some paid bills in 3 category cabinets, after doing at least 4 hours of filing, kay gave me the job to track the shipped items we sent out to other companies and that didn't last long. So basically all i did today was file and track shipped items. Today was causal and i had a great experience and im trying to be less shy!

Today I worked mainly with Steve Pedley. I had to print different sets of steel projects from the plotter which is the big printer in the shield area. After I printed I had to staple each set and roll them up. I added contacts to Steve's phone. Later I updated hours into the Ideal Steel production schedule. Finally I learned how to change the paper for the plottter.

In the morning I helped Steve Pedley with printing out things for him but could not due to technical difficulties. So IT tried to help but had to leave for before they could figure out what was wrong. Later I went to do scans for Tony. After that I gathered blueprints and rolled them up for Steve. Overall today has been a good day.

This morning I helped Pat filling out Ideal Group check request forms and also feed Frank Venegas' fish. Then I posted on the "volunteer opportunities" wall the up coming events. Later in the afternoon I helped Alex with mailers and prepared cut sheets for Ideal Shield folders. Overall my day went by really quick.

Today I  finished up everything I had started on last week. I finished the Super Hero Sports Day and Green Halloween flyers. Then I put up some pictures of the interns on the "Ideal Interns" wall. After that I hung up the Superhero Sports Day posters all around the building. The last thing I did was search for all the community logos and place them in a folder for Rossie. Overall my day was productive.

what I did on Tuesday was alot of work!! we went outside to help out with the garden. I did was paint the fences white for at least 8 hours in the sun. we took breaks and socialized with the GM members and other companies that helped us with the garden also. I really enjoyed helping out. this job is great honestly

This is my second week at Ideal and it went by really fast. It feels like I just got dropped off. I worked alongside with GM employees helping fix and keeping the community gardens maintained. We painted the fences, cleaned the gardens, and picked weeds from the garden pathways. Detroit Cristo Rey volunteers went around the gardens and picked up what was left from the GM cares event.

Once I got dropped off at Ideal I went to Steve so I can do all the invoices that he has left piled up for days, so he can keep me busy for a while. After that I did scans all day fro Melanie, she also gave another task which was to rearrange e some scans also. I

Today was mostly working outside for GM Cares Week to help clean around the Neighborhood. When I first got there, we got instruction to all the different places that everyone will be working on. Since I got to work at the park I had to pull out all the weeds that were growing all around the area. It was quite difficult since some were bigger than others. Once it was noon I went back to building C where we ate really good food. The rest of the day Jose, Alexander and I painted with some other volunteers. I met new people from other companies that I didn't know about which was cool. Overall the whole thing was a good experience to help clean the neighborhood, meet new people, and having fun talking to adults and telling them what they should do.

Today went fast just like my other days, I started of my day by getting invoices by Steve. Then I went to go see Alex and I got labels and postcards from her. At lunch Osmara, Pat, Sylvia and Rossie got Idalid and me some pizza, which was great. After all of that I started to get envelopes and I put some papers in it and that's how I ended my day. This year has gone great at Ideal and I hope I can come back and do better next year.

Santino Lopez 9th Grade Shield Department 6/5/17 My Day Today is the final work day of the school year for me. Since September I have been here and it's been a pretty good ride, for my first year atleast. I learned a few things here and I've met some cool people. This job has been pretty good honestly. Anyways, for my final day I did what I did any other day. I completed my scans and mailed my invoices. I'm really not going to miss those lol. Nothing else happened today really, just same ol' slow day.

Santino Lopez 9th Grade Shield Department 6/2/17 My Day Today felt like a pretty slow day. Luckily today, because of something to do with the seniors, I'm getting out at 2. Anyways, I did my usual scans and invoices, though Julie didn't know how to use the paper folder so I had to trifold invoices again. Around before lunch time, Chris was fiddling around with a metal detector for Mr. Venegas. Putting in the batteries was a bit weird but we got it working and it was loud. It kept beeping even when it was pointed to the floor, so we assumed that metal was below the floor because we raised it in the air and it stopped beeping. We dropped two quarters on the ground and it beeped rapidly when over them so we figured it worked as it should. 

         Today was another day without my supervisor. In the morning when I walked in I noticed many computers scattered around the office. I do not know what the computers were for until I looked at my email. After I looked at my email I discovered that Sean was gone until Tuesday and he left a couple tasks for me. My first task of the day was to restore all the computers in the office. the only problem was that the mainstream ways of doing so could not be done on these machines. I had to look through ten of forums to find a clear answer. When I found the answer, it was about lunchtime. During lunch, I did a bit more research but I had a definitive answer on how to reset the computers, however, the method that I could muster would take too long to finish today. This would make it difficult to finish all my projects so I postposed the computer projects and decided to finish the other tasks. After, finishing up the last of my tasks, I then proceeded to write my blog and prepare to go

Santino Lopez 9th Grade Shield Department 5/26/17 My Day Thankfully, today went by pretty fast. I got here and set up my account on the computer and then went to get work from Steve. He gave me the usual invoices to mail first, but this time the folding machine was broke so I had to tri-fold most of them, after those I took up the scans all the way till lunch. After lunch I switched to the network scans and did those till around 2:50 when Steve called me over to him so I could fold some more invoices. Those didn't take too long as I didn't have to also mail them. After those I finished up the day with the blog and network scans.

A lot of things make me happy like hanging out with my family and friends. Another thing is playing my games and I spend a lot of time on it, I usually play with my friends online. Another thing that makes me happy is playing with my dogs and I like to play outside,like basketball.

This year has been going fast for me and that is good, for others they tell me that this year has been going slow for them. I don't always pay attention to the time, which is good because if I focus on the time it will go slow for me and I feel like the time is going slower for me. I'm happy the school year is almost over and can't wait to be in 10th grade.

         Today was a challenging day of research, trial and error, and great accomplishment. In the morning, I walked in and I made a cup of coffee and organized all the clean dishes in the dish washer. When I had finished I then pursued to my desk. When I got to my desk Sean and I caught up because he wasn't here on Friday. After we had caught up, I was given my tasks for the day. The main one was to get the 3-d printer working by the end of the day. I also had a view side tasks here and there. I had to give Ashley and Christopher the computers they will use over the summer and I also helped Sean with a couple things. Santino Lopez 9th Grade Shield Department 5/22/17 What Makes Me Happy A lot of things make me happy. Some examples would be friends, video games, other people being happy, sunny weather, food, and animals. Friends make me happy because they always make me laugh with our inside jokes and that I can trust them. Video games keep me occupied when I get bored and give me a wonderful new environment to explore. I can't really explain it, but when I see other people being happy I become happy too. I guess to me happiness and joy are contagious. The weather plays a big role in my level of joy. I sometimes enjoy rainy or cold weather, but sunny weather and clear skies always lift me up when I feel down. I'm pretty sure food would make anyone happy. I mean why not? It's something that gives you energy, fills you up, and tastes great. Finally, animals are a #1 way to get anyone out of the gutter. A video of a cat or a puppy always makes me feel fuzzy inside.     I feel as though the beginning of the year was the slow part but by the second semester things picked up. This year has been a roller coaster and it has not been like any other year of high school. I would also like to mention that the year was seemed drawn out when I was at home but short at school. With UoD Mercy, school, housework, and homework spare time seemed like a luxury. These days I am mostly trying to work and make as much money as I possibly can. Santino Lopez 9th Grade Shield Department 5/19/17 Freshman Year My first year at Cristo Rey has gone by slowly honestly. This is most likely because the school day ends at 4 instead of 3:15 like last year. Also the homework, specifically essays and projects, make me feel like time just drags on. One big part of the stretched out time would be because freshman started a whole month earlier than everybody else! We had to take classes in August to train us for our jobs and to get an early high school experience. Santino Lopez 9th Grade Shield Department 5/12/17 Memory One memory that I will never forget is when my 8th grade class went on a trip to Cedar Point for the day. The 8th grade does this every year and we were able to fund raise our way there. I remember hanging out with my best friends and riding almost every roller coaster. We were unable to ride all of them because of the ridiculously long lines we'd have to wait through. All of the stuff was expensive  but I had enough money to last through the day. I actually spent around $10 on a game where you had to shoot into a basket ball hoop to win a basketball. There was a trick to it though, and it was that the square that would normally help you make it in all the time was pointless, your ball would go off course every time you hit it. I ended up winning 2 balls, a Golden State one and a Cavaliers one. When we had to leave we were supposed to be near the entrance at a specific time, and it was around 5 min till th

  Today was a very fun day in the office. In the morning, when I walked in the office was a bit of a mess. Since I came before Sean did, I started to clean up. When Sean came in he gave me a rundown of the tasks I needed to accomplish and then I got to it. First Sean and I went to go see the new stand desk for Sylvia. Then we came back and I started to arrange all the loose ends that we had in the office. While I was arranging, Sean received a serious phone call about a problem in Lansing. Apparently, he needed to leave to Lansing for the rest of the day to help fix the solution. Throughout the day I was left to get my new computer work ready, making sure I had all the old software on the new computer, connecting the 3D printer to the new computer, organizing the office, and helping other throughout the day. As a bonus to the day we received a lunch from Ideal for the day. A memory that I will never forget is the time where I built a computer by myself. This is because it sparked

    One memory I won't forget is when I went to Cedar Point with my friends. When I went me and my friends rode a lot of rides and played some games as well. It was really fun hanging out a day with my friends. I hope we are able to go again this summer.

One memory that I will never forget is when I went to Disney World and I was seeing a bunch of characters perform and I went on some roller coasters. I spent a week over their, Disney World was amazing, it was one of the best trips that I have went to. After Disney we stayed a few nights at a hotel and looked around in Orlando.

A place I would like to go is to the Bahamas, it looks like an amazing place to go to and to relax. I like the ocean and I would like to see some animals and explore the ocean a bit. I would like to go with my family in the future.                                                                                                                                                                                                            

Santino Lopez 9th Grade Shield Department 5/5/17 Place To Visit One place that I would like to visit in the world is New York. New York seems like such a great place to visit, it's the US's hub for all kinds of cultures and has many sights to see and visit. I always wonder what kind of people I can meet there and how they would act. My friend Edward is from New York and from what he's said it's a pretty great place. Also I love the New Yorker accent, although Edward doesn't have one sadly. My Day Today I learned and matured from an experience.   A place I would like to go to is California. I would like to visit there because it looks like a beautiful place to visit. I've always wanted to go to California as well. I also plan on living there in the future. I hope one day I get to go to California. 

I understand that we have to keep working and not waste any minute of work but I feel that we need to stop at some point because we already have lots to do when we go home. We are already worn out from working all day that we just want to use those last 5-15 minutes to chill out. But I know its important to keep working but I would just like to sit and wait for the bus.

Santino Lopez 9th Grade Shield Department 4/28/17 My Day Today I came in feeling ready for work. I think it's my small change of diet, as lately I've been drinking a lot more water. Anyways, I started of the day with the usual stack of invoices and scans. I finished the scans before it was even lunch and there were 204 of them! I finished off the morning with helping Steve carry boxes to what I think was the packing building. For the rest of the day I helped Melanie with her scans. She showed me how to do a folder of them, which was filled with 1700 scans!

My spring break was fun I mainly hanged out with my friends and I went to the movies to see Fate of the Furious. I hanged out with my family and helped my grandma water the plants, I also played some sports like soccer and basketball with my friends. I played some video games with my friend and I worked with my god-father also for a bit.

So today was another camera day. In the morning, I walked in and i really missed being in the office. When I sat down, Sean caught me up on what I have missed and we talked about how my vacation turned out. When we finished, we talked about the tasks I should handle now. I was to make sure that the print for the sign base would start today. I could start it but not without any bumps along the road. Before lunch I could figure it out and got it started. During lunch Sean and I talked a bit. After lunch Sylvia walked in and talked about the Senior Luncheon. I ended up inviting Sean to my Luncheon and I emailed Mrs. Rosa Gutierrez to RSVP. Through the rest of the day I was to maintain the printer and look at different printing Technologies. I learned about SLA printing and how it makes solid figures out of a resin, and about the metal 3d printers and how they use light to stick particles together. Santino Lopez 9th Grade Shield Department 4/24/17 My Day It's been awhile since I've last been here, and now that I'm back after 2 weeks it still feels like the same work and place. I came back to a huge pile of invoices from Steve that took me an hour and a half to put in envelopes and mail! After finishing those he gave me few piles of scans throughout the day, one email had 101 in them. The day went smoothly with no problems, Steve even brought some buttery breadsticks! Spring Break My springbreak was definitely fun for me. The first week I rode around and explored my neighborhood on my bike. I'm trying to get more familiar with it and the streets around it. I also searched through the abandoned house next to my house. I had pants, a sweater, gloves, and a dust mask though so no harm would come to me. Later on I went to the movies with my friend to see Fate of the Furious. The movie was absolutely spectacular and fun to watch, definitely worth

What I did today was go to Steve in shipping and get invoices from him to complete. After I was done I went to see Alex in marketing and she gave me some flyers to put in a folder. I also went to Scarcyny Park to cut some flowers with my colleagues. The flowers were for Kim Bryce from General Motors. Today I learned a new word is paradigm which it means a set of ideas.

  A special skill I would like to have is time management. I'm always busy and need to get in the use of using my time wisely. I also forget to do somethings which then I have to do last minute. Maybe if I knew how to mange my time better I would be relaxing instead of stressing on something I could've had time to do earlier. So, I hope later on I get better on controlling on my time.   

Santino Lopez 9th Grade Shield Department 4/7/17 Special Skills A special skill that I would like to learn is the ability to shuffle cards and throw them properly. I can do the basic shuffle mostly but it would be pretty cool to be able to show off my shuffle in a game of cards at a party. My Day Today has been pretty chill. I did the basic morning routine, my invoices and scans, and finished before lunch time. During lunch time Bindu brought some Pizza Hut in the lunch room for everyone, which was pretty nice. I ate a slice and when lunch was finished I went off to find some more work. I did some invoices for Julie, but that didn't last very long, so I went to Rosie and she gave me the task of organizing some pictures of Frank's family and friends and his business pictures. I always laugh when I see Frank with his old mario mustache!

Today was mostly an Auto Cad day with a couple of quirks. In the morning, I arrived a bit before Sean did and I started the printer along with Auto Cad. For some reason, Auto CAD needed something with the license and I could not resolve it for a while. Sean said he needed to do something with Auto CAD, so he directed me to another CAD program called Sketch Up. During lunch, I had my regular cheese fries (that my supervisor always gets me) and then headed back to work. After couple hours of learning how to use Sketch Up, Sean gave a design for me to make. It took me a couple hours to almost finished it but Sean got Auto CAD working again. Near the end of the day I had almost finished (I had to stop to do my blog).  Some special skills I think I have are my fast reflexes, ability to create things in cad and my programming background (not a huge amount but enough to correct errors). I like to think that I can think on my feet in many situations. I have been learning how to use some CAD

    What I plan to do over the summer is have fun, and try to hangout with my friends. I also plan to hopefully work over the summer, so my parents won't have to waste money on me. I also have planned to practice dances with my friends for  quinceaneras . I hope this summer I have a lot of fun and make many memories. 

What I'm going to do this summer is hang out with my friends and ride my bike. Right now I'm in track which is fun, also I'm going to work over the summer so I can save up and use my money to buy my self things and my family. I might go to Mexico to see my grandpa, and I would help him with the store. I am gonna hang out with my family, go to the movies, park and go to the water park.

What I did was work on labels, also I got invoices which I had to mail, then I went on the computer and I started to add some items to the list on excel. I looked at sheet that 5th graders made for Frank which were good and I choose some that I liked  the most.

     What I did was mostly mailing some envelopes and post cards. I also had to make some topics for the blog as well. For my break I went to the gym, which felt pretty good. I later did some more mailing, and that's how my day pretty much went like.

Today was very unusual. In the morning when I walked in, Sean gave me a congratulation for the win on Saturday. After that, Pat wanted me to fill out a form for GDYT so that I would be able to work for Ideal in the summer. After I had finished, Sean went over my daily tasks. I was mostly to fix a few problems I had with a print we wanted to make for the sign base project. When lunch came around Sean and I both forgot to eat and carried about through the day until about one thirty. We had a Frank Innovation Meeting without the big man himself. Frank was in Orlando for the Supplier of the Year event. After the meeting, we grabbed some snacks and carried on back to the office. Santino Lopez 9th Grade Shield Department 3/31/17 Warmer Weather With warmer weather coming closer these days, I can only see great things in the future. I've gotten sick and tire of being stuck inside because of snow, 20 degree weather or freezing rain. I plan on going out a lot more, preferably with friends, riding my bike, and running to stay in shape. Since it is also baseball season, my little bro joined the school team and is gonna need to practice. Maybe if my family goes to a park we could play catch and help him better his skills. My Day My day went pretty smooth honestly. Started out with a fat stack of invoices form Steve, which took me around an hour to put in envelopes and mail, then I moved on to scans. He had a healthy amount of scans for me to do, so they kept me busy all day. Not much happened, just smooth sailing. 

Today was alright and it went fast, what I did was mail some invoices and I put some labels on some envelopes for some baseball tickets. After that I went online to fill out my GDYT application and it took me a while. Then I went to the computer again and started to look at some pictures and put them in a separate folder and my supervisor is going to update the web browser, with the pictures that I have choose.

    Today was pretty normal as usual. I got to the desk and started working on some envelopes. I pretty much worked on envelopes all day and mailing them as well. I also had to sign an application for a work in the summer, which I look forward to. For my break, I decided to go to the gym, it went pretty good. This was how my day went. 

In the morning when I first arrived Pat said hi and approached Sunny and I. She kindly asked if we could disassemble some tables upstairs that have been left after an event. Sunny and I were happy to help and finished quickly. When I got to my desk I settled and got a cup of fresh coffee. After my first sip of my coffee I talked with Sean about my daily life and my work for the day. He said a couple of my duties but there were a few hidden gems I would find out. I first had to remove the memory of an old computer and send it to Dell for recycling. When I had finished with memory wipe, I printed off a label so we could send it to Dell. After we packaged the computer, I was to start the print that needed a fixing last week. When I started to print, the printer was acting funny and the print was coming out wrong. Santino Lopez 9th Grade Shield Department 3/24/17 My Day Today was a great and busy day. First in the morning Steve set me up with some invoices that I mailed out, but had no luck with the scans. The scanner would scan the papers but not send them to Steve, so I had to go look for other work. Kala had me file some papers in the accounting filing cabinets then I helped bring some food from the upstairs kitchen to the downstairs. After all of that I was told to help a lady named Linda, who works upstairs, to numerically file some folders for her and label some cabinets. All this work had me moving around alot, which is what I like in a job. It was definitely a better change of pace from doing scans all day. 

    My day today went pretty good and clam. To start off my day, I drank some coffee since I was pretty tired. What I did mostly today was envelopes and mailing them. For my break, I went to the gym, which I need to start going more often. But overall, today was good.

Santino Lopez 9th Grade Shield Department 3/20/17 Ineligibility List I do have a friend on the ineligibility list, but I don't think I should say their name. Anyways, some ways I could help get them off the list is by helping them out with what subject they are having trouble in. I could study with them in a study hall or just give them some tips on how to take notes. Another way that wouldn't involve directly helping them with school is just being there for them. Giving them emotional support and encouragement could really make a difference in whether they can boost their grade up or have it sink down.
