Today, I sat at Jocelyn's desk. I had trouble getting into my email, so I just went upstairs to help, Maria wanted to file some papers. After I finished, she gave me another stack of papers to file. When I finished, I went downstairs and Amanda said that Surplus had some work for me, but for right now do some mailers. I did some mailers and then I started to help Surplus. They wanted me to search items on the internet and to match our prices. I had find the best price and then multiply it by .85. It was pretty tricky because sometimes the items wouldn't show or they had to be the right size and amount. Later Osmara gave me some flyers to hang around the office.
Me and Osmara went home for lunch, when we got back, it was raining and we made a run for it. We got wet but we dried in no time. I continued to do inventory. Later I hang the flyers around the building to make sure people go to the garden. After I finished, I did the mailers and mailed them out. I went upstairs and helped Yesenia to file and to make some tabs. My day was great and productive.
What are the top 3 things I learned while working at Ideal Group. One thing that I learned was using the Microsoft Office programs. Back then I really didn't use PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and many others. I just did paper reports on Word and that's it. But now I know how to make labels on Word, how to make presentations and flyers on PowerPoint, how to make mailers on Excel, and many more. These will help me later on life.
I have learned how to become a better writer. Back then, I would have many misspelled words or errors on my papers. But learning from Mike Powers and Amanda, I learned many things such as past tense, columns, and spelling. Now I have less errors on papers and I get to get better grades on homework.
The last important thing I learned at Ideal Group is leadership, responsibility, and integrity. I learned how to be responsible and now I get more tasks because they trust me. I learned leadership by watching Osmara, Frank, Chris, Amanda, and Linzie. I see how all these people gave instructions and advice. I've learned to become a better leader and to lead people to the right direction. I've learned Integrity by being honest, smart, respectful, and by watching other people. I have really enjoyed working at Ideal Group and I plan on coming back and I still have more things to learn.
